31 Jan Firefly selected as a semifinalist of the 2020 SPIE Startup Challenge
We are excited to announce that Firefly Photonics LLC has been selected as the semifinalist of the 2020 SPIE Startup Challenge program. The program is a high-stakes, global competition where entrepreneurs with light-enabled products showcase their technical innovations and business strategy. According to SPIE, this year the selection of the semifinalists was highly competitive with a 25% increase in participants compared to the previous years. The participants of the final round will be vying for over $85,000 in cash, prizes, and marketing promotion.
“The SPIE Startup Challenge offers an exciting opportunity to interact with potential customers and investors. We look forward to pitching the value of Firefly Photonics mid-infrared LED and laser products to the photonics community”, according to Mike Jones, Firefly Photonics CEO.
The challenge is held at the SPIE Photonics West conference, which is the largest research conference and trade show for light-based products in North America with over 1,300 companies and 22,000 attendees. We will also be presenting our technology demo during the Entrepreneur Program: Demos & Startup Alley event on Tuesday, February 4th 2020.
