Firefly Photonics LLC awarded small business innovation grant, “Two-Dimensional Surface Emitting Mid-Wave Infrared (MWIR) QCL Arrays for High-Power Applications”

The primary objective of the Phase I project is to enable development of >200 W MIR ICL VCSEL arrays by improvements in quantum and cavity design, thermal characteristics of the laser materials, heat management and extraction, and beam combining. The award was granted by the U.S. Navy.
